Who are the Members?
Membership in the League of Momen Voters, the most respected and effective grassroots organization in the country, is open to men and women of all ages. Our members make a visible difference by serving as community leaders using their experience to create positive, lasting change in our communities.
Why should I join?
Through participation in League projects, you will:
- contribute valuable service to the community
- gain knowledge and experience through the study and discussion of timely and important topics
- discover new interests, develop new skills and learn about crucial issues in your community
- make professional contacts and develop lasting friendships as you meet others in League who share your interests
How much time does it take?
It's up to you! Your own personal interests and the amount of time you have to offer will determine your level of involvement. We welcome all levels of participation.
What do I get?
- membership in and publications of LWV Wisconsin
- membership in and publications of LWV of the United States
- newsletters from the Door County League of Women Voters (LWV DC Membership Updates) and action alerts
Does joining the League mean I can no longer participate in political party activities and support candidates?
Not at all. Leaguers by nature like to be involved politically and from time to time exercise their right to participate in campaigns either by running for office, supporting candidates, or working for a political party. However, when a member chooses to be involved in a political race in whatever capacity, the League's nonpartisan policy dictates that they NOT hold the office of President or play key roles in LWV DC voter service and action activities during that election cycle.
How do I join?
It's easy! Print and fill out a form, then mail it with a check to us. Contact us at lwvdcprez@gmail.com and ask for a membership packet to be mailed to you.
